§ 13-40-110

Filing of plat – Records

At the time of applying for a permit for the erection of, alteration of, addition to, or moving of any building or structure, the applicant shall submit to the building commissioner a plat of the lot, showing the dimensions of the same and the position to be occupied by the proposed building, or by the building to be altered or added to, or by the buildings to be moved thereon, and the position of any other building or buildings that may be on the lot. The measurements shall in all cases be taken at the top of the first story and shall not include any portion of any public way or public place.  Each application for a building permit shall be accompanied by a plat in duplicate, drawn to scale and in such form as may be prescribed by the building commissioner, showing the actual dimensions of the lot to be built upon, the size of the building to be erected, its position on the lot, and such other information as may be necessary to provide for the enforcement of the regulations contained in the building provisions of this Code.  A careful record of such applications and plats shall be kept in the office of the building commissioner.
